snail mail

I got a call from my sister yesterday. She wanted to know when I mailed out my Christmas cards. I told her it was several weeks before Christmas....why? "Well, we just got your Christmas card in the mail today!" Kristen lives a quarter of a mile from me. I've heard of snail mail before, but seriously where has that card been for the past two and a half months? Now I am worrying about how many others are just now getting our card. How embarassing! Maybe this year I'll get my cards sent out in October.

Can you imagine being the postal worker who found it stuck in a slot or wherever and mailing it, knowing it was a Christmas card going out in February! :o)

I've had weird stuff like that happen as well but it is usually between here and Chicago that my mail tends to get delayed...not a 1/4 of a mile. That's crazy!

About lunch with the boys...Josh is going to take it hard when I go back to work and can't do this anymore. He is very senstive about things like that.

Patrick is at the stage where I'm not allowed to come have lunch with him and yes...it does break your heart. You look back on all the missed opportunities and your heart hurts because they aren't your baby anymore. They are your 12 year old going on 20 man that buys stuffed animals and cards for girls now and talks about shaving and moving out soon.

UGH! I need to go lay down now. :o)

Didn't know you had this blog going--now I have a new one to snoop at!
That's pretty funny about the Christmas card, though.
Someone called me when we got married to see if I ever received their gift, and I know I'd sent a thank-you note. They found in the ditch next to their house when they were doing lawn work that spring.
